Graduation Ceremonies at the University ֱ – Milestones, Awards, and Celebratory Moments

In recent days, proud parents, emotional graduates, and smiling friends have filled the University ֱ’s main hall, as the faculties in Veszprém held their graduation ceremonies one after another. Nearly 850 students successfully completed their studies at the university, closing an important chapter in their lives and stepping into the future with a new direction. Alongside touching moments, group singing, and heartfelt farewells, several awards and recognitions were also presented—honoring outstanding academic and teaching achievements, as well as contributions to the university community.

Faculty of Humanities – A Jubilee Year and Role Models

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, the Faculty of Humanities graduated 328 students this year, 47 percent of whom completed their studies with distinction. For the second time, the faculty presented the “Students for the Community” award, which in 2025 went to Kitti Rédei, a recent graduate of Communication and Media Studies. A special initiative of this jubilee year was the creation of a digital time capsule, where graduating students left personal messages and feelings—leaving a memory for future generations.

Faculty of Business and Economics – Professional Excellence and Recognition

A total of 241 students passed their final exams at the faculty, and five of them received diplomas with honors. Several teaching and student awards were presented at the ceremony:

  • Professor Emeritus title: Dr. András Telcs
  • Pro Facultate Award: Pál Purnhauser
  • János Harsányi Award: Dr. Tibor Csizmadia
  • Excellent Teacher Award: Dr. Andrea Magda Nagy
  • Dean’s Commendation: Andrea Csabáné Molnár and Marcell Fux
  • Sport and Study Program Scholars: Barnabás Vince Budai, Barnabás Hegyi, Kata Takács

Faculty of Information Technology – Science and Sport Go Hand in Hand

A total of 126 students graduated, including 41 from master’s programs. Four students received diplomas with honors, among them Mónika Gugolya (ME MSc), whose outstanding performance earned special recognition.

Among the graduates were five elite athletes supported by the Sport and Study Program:

Faculty of Engineering – Innovation, Excellence, and Community Awards

A total of 137 students completed their final exams at the Faculty of Engineering. The awardees represented a wide spectrum—from research excellence to athletic achievement:

  • Kálmán Varga Young Researcher Award: Dr. Gábor László Seress
  • Outstanding Chemical Engineering Studies: Martin Molnár
  • Péter Árva Scholarship: Kinga Szatmári
  • Dr. Tamás Varga TDK Award: Csenge Judit Juhász, Rebeka Bejczi
  • L. T. Fan and Eva Fan Scholarship: Balázs Fricz
  • VVE 1961 Scholarship: Kristóf Bence Nagy
  • Best Thesis Award: Andrea Tamara László
  • János Liszi Corrosion Scholarship: Péter Jankovics
  • Outstanding Athletes: Antal Andrikó, Ádám Zsuffa

A jubilee diploma was awarded to Rector Dr. János Abonyi, who has served the university for 25 years.

Zalaegerszeg University Center – New Engineers and Economists in the Region

At the Zalaegerszeg University Center, 27 students earned higher education qualifications. Among them, 19 graduated in economics, while four each completed engineering and IT programs.
