International Cooperation for the Development of Foreign Language Teaching Supported by Artificial Intelligence
Veszprém hosted the first international meeting of the AI-assisted Foreign Language Education in Higher Education project (shortly AI-NYELV), organized by Insedo under the Erasmus+ program. The initiative aims to open new pathways in foreign language teaching for higher education institutions through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

The AI-NYELV project is a broad international collaboration bringing together seven partners from different parts of Europe. The consortium consists of five prestigious higher education institutions: the University of Gothenburg, the University of Cyprus, the University of Warsaw, the University of Barcelona, and SSML Carlo Bo. The project is complemented by two companies — Insedo, based in Veszprém (as project leader), and FIAS International. Additionally, the University ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ supports the work as an associate partner.
The project’s professional leader is Gergő Pálfy, representing Insedo. The Veszprém meeting provided an opportunity for partners to get to know each other’s work personally and jointly lay the foundation for the direction of developments to be implemented over the coming years.
The 30-month project aims to explore the conscious and critical application of artificial intelligence in university language education. It seeks to provide a comprehensive, system-level analysis of the opportunities and limitations of AI-based technologies while striving to balance the efficiency of technological solutions with an educational approach in which human interaction continues to play a defining role in the learning process.
Within the project, a comprehensive picture will be created of the advantages and challenges of using AI tools in language learning and translation processes, with particular attention to the situation of university students. It is necessary to develop methodologies that enable students to use these tools consciously and responsibly, recognizing their limitations and mastering their ethical and effective application.
A teacher training program will also be implemented as part of the project, since language teachers will increasingly need to integrate AI tools into their teaching methods. The project aims to provide tools and resources for teachers’ continuous professional development, both in technical skills and solid theoretical foundations, enabling them to handle AI consciously and critically in language education.
